Ons 'Total Quality System' (TQS) garandeert de kwaliteit van alle aspecten van onze dagelijkse activiteiten. Dit systeem vormt de grondslag voor certificering van de productkwaliteit (ISO 9001), het milieu (ISO 14001), de gezondheid en veiligheid op het werk (OHSAS 18001) en de Yara Sluiskil arbodienst (conform de Nederlandse wetgeving). Daarnaast controleren we onze voedselproducten met de HACCP-methode (CO2-productie, ISO 22000). De verdere ontwikkeling en optimalisatie van verantwoorde en veilige producten valt ook binnen het TQS-raamwerk.

Met belangrijke stakeholders zoals overheden, omwonenden,  ngo’s, bedrijven en kennispartners zijn we voortdurend in gesprek over verduurzaming. Binnen 10 jaar wisten we onze CO2  footprint met maar liefst 60% te verlagen, terwijl de productie met ruim 1.5 miljoen ton toenam over dezelfde periode. Ook de thermische belasting op het Kanaal is verminderd door het toepassen van luchtkoeling. Met de investering in Ureum-8 zal de stofemissie sterk verminderen. 

Daarnaast voerde Yara Sluiskil diverse innovatieve projecten uit om waterstromen her te gebruiken in de processen, de stoombalans te optimaliseren en samen met natuurorganisaties was Yara Sluiskil een van de eersten die het concept ‘Tijdelijke natuur’ toepaste met braakliggende terreinen. Met een tiental andere bedrijven in de regio participeert Yara Sluiskil in het project Smart Delta Resources (SDR) waarin met bedrijven, overheden en kennisinstellingen gewerkt wordt aan grootschalige innovatieve grensontkennende business cases.

Samen met de havenbeheerder Zeeland Seaports participeert Yara in de ontwikkeling van glastuinbouw, waarbij het bedrijf restwarmte en CO2 rechtstreeks aan de naastgelegen kassen levert. Hiermee wordt een CO2 besparing van maar liefst 135.000 ton per jaar gerealiseerd. Yara is met dit unieke project voorloper in Nederland en Europa.

Vermindering van de ammoniakexport en per zeeschip vanuit Sluiskil om de externe veiligheid te vergroten (een wens van de Nederlandse regering) werd gerealiseerd door de bouw van de nieuwe ureum-7 fabriek.

Our Total Quality System (TQS) guarantees the quality of all aspects of our daily activities. This system is the basis for certification of product quality (ISO 9001), environmental (ISO 14001), health and safety at work (OHSAS 18001) and Yara Sluiskil Arbo (according to the Dutch legislation). We check our food with the HACCP method (CO2 production, ISO 22000). The further development and optimization of responsible and safe products is also within the TQS framework.

With key stakeholders such as governments, local residents, NGOs, companies and knowledge partners, we are constantly talking about sustainability. Within 10 years, we lowered our CO2 footprint by up to 60%, while production increased by over 1.5 million tonnes over the same period. Also, the thermal load on the channel is reduced by the application of air cooling. With the investment in Urea-8 dust emissions will reduce considerably.

In addition, Yara Sluiskil conducted several innovative projects to re-use water flows in the processes, optimize the steam and together with nature organizations Yara Sluiskil was one of the first to apply the concept of 'temporary nature' with wastelands. With a dozen other companies in the region participating in the project Yara Sluiskil Smart Delta Resources (SDR), with which businesses, governments and research institutions are working on large-scale innovative business cases.

Along with the port authority Zeeland Seaports, Yara participates in the development of horticulture, in which the company's waste heat and CO2 are delivered directly to the adjacent greenhouses. With this, a CO2 saving of up to 135,000 tons per year is achieved. Yara is the frontrunner of this unique project in the Netherlands and Europe.

Reducing ammonia and export by ship from Sluiskil to enhance the external safety (a wish of the Dutch government) was realized through the construction of the new urea-7 plant.
